A recent report by Which? has identified the leading current account providers and advised numerous customers to consider switching their accounts.

The analysis conducted by the consumer rights organization focused on various aspects such as fees, overdrafts, charges, and benefits, in addition to surveying more than 6,600 account holders to gauge their satisfaction levels.

Six providers, including Chase, Danske Bank, First Direct, Monzo, Nationwide, and Starling, were recognized as Which? Recommended Providers (WRP).

Starling emerged as the top performer with an impressive customer satisfaction score of 86% and secured its seventh WRP badge. It was rated five stars for both online and mobile banking, and four stars for customer service.

Monzo obtained an 85% customer score, receiving five stars for mobile banking convenience and four stars for overall customer service.

First Direct achieved an 84% customer score and has held the WRP status for over a decade, making it the longest-running recipient.

This year, it received five-star ratings for overall customer service, online, mobile, and telephone banking, and four stars for ease of reaching customer services.

Nationwide also scored 84% and was commended with four stars for in-branch service and five stars for online banking.

Chase, a digital bank under JPMorgan, achieved an 82% customer satisfaction rating, with five stars for its mobile app and four stars for customer service, application process ease, and telephone banking.

Danske Bank received an 80% customer score and secured mostly four-star ratings, particularly for overall customer service and online banking.

Although Allied Irish Bank and Revolut received high customer scores of 85% and 83% respectively, they did not attain WRP status. Revolut is categorized as an e-money provider in the UK, excluding customers from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
