A startling video has emerged showing two teenagers hanging onto the rear of a bus as it merges onto a bustling main road.
A bystander captured the incident involving the Bee Network bus near the Trafford Centre in Manchester on the previous day. The two teenagers, donning black coats, clung onto the back of the 52 service bus that runs from Failsworth to Trafford for about a minute before letting go.
According to reports, the two boys allegedly boarded the bus at a roundabout before it departed. A third boy, visible in the video, is seen running away from the bus.
The individual who filmed the incident, preferring to remain anonymous, commented: “Three boys were waiting at the roundabout for a bus to stop, then jumped on the back. They initially struggled to hold on, but two of them managed to secure their grip.
“They circled the roundabout and were still clinging on as we passed them heading towards the Trafford Centre. They held on for a considerable time. Another bus trailing behind was honking, attempting to get the driver’s attention to stop.”
Transport for Greater Manchester strongly condemned the boys’ actions, labeling them as “extremely perilous.” This was reported by the Manchester Evening News.
A spokesperson stated: “This behavior is highly risky and could lead to disastrous outcomes. It also constitutes a criminal offense. We urge all parents and guardians to educate their children about the hazards associated with such actions.
“Not only are these young individuals endangering their lives, but they will also face serious consequences if apprehended.”
