The drivers of the buses were traveling in opposite directions and attempted to overtake other vehicles, leading to a head-on collision. The impact of the collision caused a chain reaction, leaving both buses severely damaged on the highway. Several oncoming cars skidded and flipped while trying to evade the wreckage. Upon reaching the scene in Kitaleba village, rescue teams found numerous injured passengers on the roadside.
