A tragic car accident at a popular holiday destination has resulted in the death of a three-week-old baby girl and serious injuries to her mother. The incident occurred in Calpe, Costa Blanca, Spain, where the mother and daughter were struck by a car that lost control while rolling down a hill. The father and their four-year-old son witnessed the horrific event.
Emergency services quickly responded, rushing the baby to La Fe Hospital in Valencia, where she sadly passed away. The mother was taken to Denia Hospital nearby, where she underwent amputation of one leg and suffered a blood clot. Currently, she is in the intensive care unit at the same hospital. The nationalities of the victims have not been disclosed, and local authorities are investigating the accident, which is suspected to be caused by a malfunctioning handbrake on the car that hit them.
The baby was in a stroller being pushed by her mother when the collision occurred. It is reported that the vehicle involved was not owned by the family. Authorities have not provided further details on the exact location of the incident, which took place near a private residential area in the resort.
