A 12-year-old boy has tragically passed away following a fall from an equipment at a playground situated in Cheshire. Despite paramedics’ efforts, the child was declared deceased at Wharton Recreation Ground near Ledward Street in Winsford on Friday evening. Cheshire Police have initiated an investigation into the incident after a report from the North West Ambulance Service.

The authorities have informed the child’s next of kin, who are receiving support from specialized officers. Cheshire Police is appealing to individuals present in the vicinity or possessing information about the “deeply tragic” event to come forward.

Detective Sergeant John Rhodes, from the Protecting Vulnerable People Investigations Unit, expressed, “This was a deeply tragic incident involving a very young victim, and our sympathies are with the family and friends of the boy who sadly passed away at the scene. As part of our probe, we urge anyone who might have been in or around the Wharton Recreation Ground area near Ledward Street in Winsford around the time of the incident and witnessed anything relevant to contact us.”

Rhodes added, “I also urge the public to refrain from speculation, especially on social media, as the investigation is ongoing.” Individuals with information are encouraged to reach out to Cheshire Police via the website or by dialing 101, quoting IML-216564.

In a separate incident earlier this month, an inquest revealed that a six-year-old boy tragically lost his life after hitting his head on a wall while racing a friend in a school playground. Known as ‘Yaseen,’ Mohammed Yaseen Uddin was engaged in running and tag during a lunch break at Marlborough Primary School in Small Heath. He sustained a fatal head injury just before 12.30pm on December 10 last year.

Yaseen informed a school receptionist that he collided with the wall while racing his friend. Following the incident, he walked to the school office with a first aider and did not display signs of stumbling or drowsiness.

Later that day, Yaseen began complaining of head pain and vomiting. Despite being taken home to rest, he became unconscious in the early hours of the following day. Rushed to the hospital, Yaseen passed away at 12.08pm on December 11 last year, despite medical efforts.
