Donald Trump has been extensively discussing the luxurious renovations he has made to his new restroom this week. While the US government is currently facing a shutdown due to budget and welfare disputes, leaving many impoverished Americans without pay and assistance, Trump’s focus seems to be on extravagant building projects and upgrades in the White House and Washington DC.

Recent images revealed bulldozers demolishing the East Wing of the White House to make space for a grand ballroom. Trump has also replaced the iconic White House rose garden with white marble paving for hosting dinner parties, reminiscent of his Florida resort Mar A Lago.

Trump proudly showcased the renovated en suite attached to the Lincoln Bedroom, boasting about replacing the vintage Harry Truman-era turquoise art deco tiling with polished Italian marble. Despite claiming the refurbishment is in line with Abraham Lincoln’s era, historical accuracy is questioned as the Lincoln Bedroom was not established until the 1950s and named after Lincoln in the 1960s.

With only three years left in his term, Trump’s ambitious renovation plans, including a triumphal archway near the Lincoln Memorial dubbed as the “Arc De Trump,” raise speculation about his long-term intentions. Despite his past criticism of Washington DC and the White House, Trump aims to create a lasting legacy for future presidents and Americans.

As Trump’s remodeling efforts continue to draw attention, the motive behind his extensive renovations remains a topic of debate. Whether he plans to extend his stay in office beyond 2028 or leave a lasting mark on the nation’s capital, Trump’s focus on revamping the White House raises questions about his future ambitions.
