The World Airline Awards has released its ranking of the top airlines in Europe, with renowned carriers making the list. Notably, budget airlines like Ryanair and easyJet did not secure spots in the top 10.

Compiled by Skytrax, the list was based on passenger surveys covering various aspects such as staff friendliness, cabin cleanliness, seat comfort, and even the airline’s website quality.

Leading the list is Turkish Airlines, the national airline of Turkey, offering numerous UK routes to Turkish cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya from bases in London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

Turkish Airlines was rated as a four-star airline by Skytrax, commending the airline for providing a superior experience on short-haul flights compared to other legacy carriers in Europe.

Air France also made it to the list, serving routes from London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham, with destinations including Paris and other major cities.

British Airways secured the fourth spot, while Virgin Atlantic followed in sixth place, flying from London Heathrow, Manchester, and Edinburgh to destinations like the USA, Canada, Korea, and India.

In a recent study on airline legroom, surprising results were revealed. Aer Lingus offered the most space with 31-32 inches, followed by British Airways with 29-31 inches. Budget airline easyJet came in third with 29 inches, showing that low-cost carriers may not always have less legroom than premium airlines.

At the bottom of the legroom list was Wizz Air, providing a seat pitch of 28 inches. The difference between the best and worst legroom in economy class was relatively small.
