A young boy, aged seven, passed away due to cancer after initially reporting a stomach ache two years ago. Feliks Jama sought medical help for his abdominal discomfort in 2023, leading to the discovery of an 8cm tumor on his kidney, along with other tumors in his lungs and abdomen. Despite undergoing treatment involving radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery to remove the tumors, some of them reappeared, necessitating further treatment at a local hospital in Dolsk, Poland.
His family believed he was making progress last November, only to find out later that the kidney cancer, specifically Wilms’ tumor, had returned. Seeking alternative treatment, they briefly visited a clinic in Germany without success, then returned to Poland. Tragically, Feliks passed away on Sunday, September 14.
The Piece of Heaven Foundation spokesperson announced the heartbreaking news, expressing their sorrow over Feliks’ battle with the disease and emphasizing their belief that he is now at peace. The foundation requested support through prayers, especially for Feliks’ grieving parents.
Earlier this year, the foundation initiated an online fundraising campaign to assist Feliks’ family with medical expenses, rehabilitation, and consultations abroad. The campaign garnered support from 11,330 individuals and raised over £220,000.
The family’s crowdfunding appeal highlighted the emotional turmoil they endured while fighting for their son’s life, recounting the shock of discovering the tumors and the subsequent challenges they faced. Despite their efforts, the recurrence of the cancer left them devastated and in urgent need of help to continue the fight for Feliks’ life.
