Tesco is set to distribute numerous free Christmas trees for a limited time only. These trees, often deemed “wonky” due to slight imperfections like uneven branches or a slight tilt, would typically not be offered for sale.

The supermarket plans to hand out these trees at select stores on Saturday, December 6, urging recipients to consider making a donation to food charities Fareshare and Trussell. The giveaway locations include Colney Hatch Extra, Borehamwood Extra, Hammersmith, Southport Extra, Goole Superstore, Glossop Superstore, Bristol Brislington Extra, Cardiff Extra, Dundee Riverside Extra, and Glasgow Maryhill Extra.

Starting at 10 am, the trees will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one tree per household. Comparatively, other retailers sell Christmas trees starting at £13.99 at Aldi and £14.99 at Home Bargains.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco’s UK CEO, emphasized the beauty in embracing imperfect moments, stating that these unique trees can still bring charm to any home with a touch of care and creative decoration. A recent survey commissioned by Tesco revealed that a significant portion of Brits consider imperfect moments as essential in making the holiday season feel special.

In a separate initiative, Tesco announced that Clubcard members can earn double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December, applicable to third-party gift cards purchased at Tesco stores. This promotion benefits the 24 million Clubcard members, who also earn points on groceries, fuel purchases, Tesco Mobile expenses, Tesco credit card spending, and transactions with a Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card. Members can redeem 150 points for a £1.50 Clubcard voucher to spend at Tesco.
