A man allegedly attacked and sexually assaulted a young woman on a train in Paris before a courageous passenger came to her rescue upon hearing her distress. Video footage captured the harrowing moment when Jhordana Dias, a 26-year-old woman from Brazil, cried out for help as the attacker pointed towards the intervening woman before fleeing when the train stopped. The incident occurred on the morning of October 16 on Line C of the RER train between Choisy-le-Roi and Villeneuve-le-Roi stations.

The assailant reportedly targeted Jhordana as she was alone on the train, entering just as the doors were closing. Feeling threatened by his demeanor, she anticipated the attack. The man proceeded to sit beside her and initiated a violent assault, with Jhordana resisting an attempted rape. Recounting the ordeal, she described how she fought back as he forcibly tried to undress her, leaving her in a state of shock from the physical abuse.

Amidst Jhordana’s screams, a brave woman in another carriage intervened by filming the suspect on her phone, prompting him to flee the scene. Jhordana quickly contacted her brother, Cicero Junior, who arrived at the station to find that the police and train security had been alerted, but the assailant had already escaped. Despite initial police assistance, they later felt neglected in seeking justice for the traumatic incident.

Following the assault, a forensic examination was planned for October 29, though concerns arose that her injuries would have healed by then. Opting for a private doctor, Jhordana received confirmation of the attacks, detailing her physical injuries. The perpetrator remains unidentified, shedding light on the ongoing safety challenges faced by women on public transportation in France.

Statistics reveal alarming rates of sexual violence against women in the Île-de-France region, underscoring the urgent need for improved safety measures. The incident has sparked national outrage and heightened awareness of the risks faced by women while using public transport.
