A new player in the TV market, Freely, has rapidly gained popularity since its launch in 2024, attracting over one million households. Offering over 50 live channels without the need for traditional aerial or dish setups, Freely has now introduced the innovative Freely Spotlight Channels.

These new channels will be accessible via standard Wi-Fi connections and will be featured on channel 31, as well as channels 90 to 99. Partnering with V (formerly VIDAA), the company behind the VIDAA OS smart TV platform, Freely will bring a curated selection of channels to its TV guide.

The addition of Freely Spotlight Channels will enhance the visibility and credibility of selected channels within the UK’s TV landscape. While the specific content lineup is yet to be revealed, more details are expected closer to the launch date.

Chief Commercial Officer at Everyone TV, Deep Halder, emphasized the platform’s commitment to providing long-term value and opportunities for partners while ensuring free, quality TV content remains easily accessible to UK audiences in the digital age.

For those unfamiliar with Freely, it is operated by the team behind Freeview and Freesat, offering a broadband-based TV service that eliminates the need for traditional antennas or satellite dishes. Users only require a compatible TV or set-top box and a stable Wi-Fi connection to access more than 50 live channels, on-demand content, personalized recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live television.
