Some Android users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are depleting rapidly even when not actively in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update, causing frustration among users who now find themselves having to recharge their devices multiple times a day just to maintain normal functionality.

The battery drain problem appears to primarily impact Google’s Pixel phone lineup, with the tech company acknowledging the issue and working on a solution. Affected devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A.

According to insights from 9to5Google, the issue is believed to be linked to excessive CPU wakeups, which result in continuous background activity even when the phone is idle. Users have reported experiencing significant battery drain, slow charging speeds, and unexpected power depletion even when their devices are switched off.

While some Pixel owners like Phil and Fz have voiced their frustrations over the battery drain problem, others like Warren have not encountered similar issues. Google is actively investigating the matter, and users can expect an update to address this issue in the near future. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.
