Sony has discreetly launched an enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro console featuring significant performance enhancements just in time for the New Year.

The new model, CFI-7100B01, showcases several efficiency upgrades such as decreased power consumption, reduced heat emission, and quieter operation. Despite these internal improvements, the external design remains unchanged from previous iterations, maintaining its modern and stylish appearance.

While games will maintain the same high visual quality, frame rates, and loading speeds, the console itself will operate much more effectively. This boost is attributed to a revamped AMD APU chip, with Sony refining the processor to lower power usage by approximately 4%, consequently decreasing thermal output.

Additionally, modifications to the internal cooling system and heatsink design have purportedly reduced fan noise by about 2 dB. Furthermore, the DualSense controller has been upgraded with a redesigned internal circuit board and a larger battery, increasing playtime by around 50%.

This latest upgrade underscores Sony’s commitment to enhancing hardware and the overall gaming experience for players. Despite the improvements, the price of the PS5 Pro model CFI-7100B01 remains consistent, priced between £560 and £700 at major retailers.
