Nigel Farage appeared to share David Lammy’s view that a Reform MP’s language is outdated. While standing in for Keir Starmer at PMQs, the Deputy Prime Minister criticized Sarah Pochin for using what he described as “racist” language during a TalkTV appearance last month.
During the show, Ms Pochin expressed frustration at seeing advertisements featuring individuals of non-white ethnicities. Lammy condemned her remarks, stating they belonged to a different era.
Addressing the issue further, Lammy pointed out a recent controversial statement made by a Reform MP at Kent County Council. The MP highlighted the council’s alleged chaos, lack of standards, and a concerning leadership style, prompting Farage to nod in agreement.
Meanwhile, a Labour MP, Tristan Osborne, raised concerns about the performance of the Reform-led council in Kent, citing instances of criminal charges, misconduct, and a failed cost-cutting initiative. Ms Pochin later apologized for any offense caused by her comments about the representation in adverts but stood by her assertion that many ads do not accurately reflect British society.
