The AA has issued a warning to drivers, anticipating a high number of breakdowns on the first working Monday of the year, referred to as “manic Monday.” More than 22 million car journeys are expected, emphasizing the importance of checking vehicles, especially those left unused during Christmas.

Last year, the AA reported a 27% increase in breakdown requests on the first working Monday compared to a similar day in February. Shaun Jones from the AA highlighted the stress of returning to work post-holidays, emphasizing the need for car maintenance and preparation to avoid unnecessary breakdowns.
