The company that owns Revolution bars has established a deadline for bids next week as it seeks a buyer. The Revel Collective, operating 62 venues under various brands, including Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba, announced its sale intentions in October 2025 due to declining sales. Potential bidders are required to submit offers by January 9, as reported by Sky News, with FTI Consulting overseeing the sale process.
Neos Hospitality has shown interest in acquiring some sites owned by The Revel Collective, although it remains uncertain if they will submit a bid. The company, previously known as Revolution Bars before rebranding in 2024, faced challenges after rejecting an offer from Nightcap, leading to the closure of 36 sites in 2024 as part of a court-approved restructuring plan.
Despite efforts to cut costs and boost margins, the company’s revenue fell by 7.4% to £26.3 million in the three months ending September, primarily driven by a 10.5% decline in bar business sales. Cost-of-living pressures on younger customers and increased debts have further impacted the company’s financial situation.
Luke Johnson, former Pizza Express chairman, took over as chairman of The Revel Collective in September following Keith Edelman’s retirement. Johnson expressed interest in pursuing deals to acquire established companies with unique characteristics. The company continues to face challenges due to economic conditions and government interventions affecting its operations.
