Starting the show 12 years ago by interviewing musicians in Britain’s underground rap scene, Dimoldenberg expanded her guest list to include renowned celebrities such as Keke Palmer, Conan O’Brien, Paul McCartney, and Jack Harlow, accumulating nearly 3.5 million subscribers on her YouTube channel.
“Chicken Shop Date” offers a unique format where Dimoldenberg shares a meal at a fried chicken shop in London with a celebrity, engaging in a mix of flirty, funny, and sometimes awkward questions. The interviews capture a playful dynamic reminiscent of a first date rather than a formal talk show setup, often leading to humorous interactions, like Andrew Garfield teasing Dimoldenberg about flirting during their chat.
