Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open on Wednesday night. Despite Auger-Aliassime recording 13 aces compared to Tiafoe’s six, he struggled with 37 unforced errors, while Tiafoe only committed 16. Tiafoe, seeded 17th, sealed the win after one hour and 40 minutes of play.
In the third-round doubles match, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Barbora Krejcikova from Czechia were defeated 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 by the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, usually partners with Luisa Stefani, but due to Stefani’s recent elbow injury, she teamed up with Krejcikova for this tournament.
