Tess Daly recently expressed her openness to becoming a “younger grandma” while reflecting on the swift passage of time and the need to seize the present moment. The television presenter, known for hosting Strictly Come Dancing, has two daughters, Phoebe and Amber, with her husband, BBC Radio 2 personality Vernon Kay.

During a conversation on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Tess contemplated the future when her children grow older and possibly start families of their own. She acknowledged the inevitability of grandchildren in the near future, estimating that it could happen within the next decade. Despite this, Tess hinted at having other plans in motion before welcoming the next generation into her life.

In response to Giovanna’s musings about the passing of time and the potential role of grandmotherhood, Tess expressed a willingness to embrace that stage of life sooner rather than later. She humorously mentioned the need to expedite her plans, joking about searching for quick getaways like short European breaks.

Coinciding with these personal reflections, Tess and her co-host Claudia Winkleman made the announcement that they would be departing from Strictly Come Dancing after 21 years of hosting the popular show. In statements shared on social media, they expressed gratitude for their time on the show and the deep connections they had formed with the audience over the years.

Vernon Kay, Tess’s husband, showed his support for her decision by liking her post and sharing a tribute to Tess and Claudia on his Instagram story. The couple’s departure marks the end of an era on the beloved dance competition show, leaving fans reminiscing about their long-standing partnership on screen.
