A former Apple employee named Sam Sung recently shared that he decided to change his name to avoid becoming the subject of online mockery. The individual, previously based in Glasgow, gained widespread attention in 2012 when a snapshot of his Apple store business card circulated online. Now known as Sam Struan, the 36-year-old relocated to Canada after his time at Apple.
The turning point came when a customer at an Apple store in Vancouver discovered that Sam shared his name with a competing tech company. Feeling the need to distance himself from the unwanted attention, Sam made the deliberate choice to rebrand, anticipating potential career challenges post-Apple.
Transitioning into a thriving recruitment consultancy role, Sam explained that he selected the surname Struan, inspired by a beloved spot in Scotland, the village on the Isle of Skye.
