During the holiday season, airports experience a high volume of travelers, leading to potential delays and security issues due to the number of Christmas gifts packed in luggage. To address this concern, Ryanair has released a guide on how to pack gifts efficiently, emphasizing the importance of not wrapping them before traveling.

According to Ryanair, wrapping gifts in hand luggage may result in security staff needing to unwrap and inspect them, potentially damaging the wrapping. The airline recommends packing gifts without wrapping and bringing a flat gift bag to use upon arrival instead.

In addition to gift packing tips, Ryanair advises travelers to keep valuables in their smaller hand luggage placed under the seat in front of them to prevent them from being placed in the hold due to limited overhead locker space. Furthermore, passengers are reminded not to carry items resembling weapons in their hand luggage, such as toy guns or slingshots.

Furthermore, festive travelers are cautioned against purchasing Christmas crackers or party items like sparklers, party poppers, and fireworks, as they are considered explosives and should be left at home. Liquids, including perfume, toiletries, and alcohol, should adhere to airport liquid rules, with duty-free shopping suggested for larger items like whiskey or perfume.

While most UK airports maintain the standard 100ml liquid limit for hand luggage, some destinations like Dublin Airport have relaxed rules allowing for up to two-liter containers. Travelers bringing Christmas food items should note that items like jam, preserves, soups, and custard are considered liquids and should be packed in checked luggage.
