Travelling to a European island destination with pleasant winter climate and a captivating historical center is set to become more convenient. Wizz Air has announced the introduction of six new routes from London Luton Airport, including one to Chania in Crete, with one-way fares starting from £44.99.

Chania, located on the northwest coast of the Greek island, is famous for its 14th-century Venetian harbor, narrow streets, and waterfront dining options. The city boasts a 16th-century lighthouse at the harbor entrance, reflecting various architectural influences.

Unlike the UK, Chania is expected to reach temperatures of up to 19°C this week and next. According to Brian Dillon, who recently explored the city, Chania offers a unique blend of tourist attractions and authentic Greek charm, setting it apart from popular Spanish destinations.

Brian praised not only the weather but also the quality of local cuisine. He highlighted the diverse culinary experiences in Chania, from traditional dishes to exceptional seafood options, which exceeded his expectations.

Starting from next spring, Wizz Air will offer flights to Chania and four other Greek destinations from London Luton Airport, along with routes to Bordeaux and Dortmund. Flights to Mykonos will operate three times a week, while the other Greek routes will have twice-weekly service.

The new flights to Greece are scheduled to begin on May 13, 2026, just in time for the summer season, with fares starting at £44.99. Tickets can be purchased on the Wizz Air website and mobile app.

These additions come as Wizz Air expands its services at London Luton Airport, introducing a 14th aircraft to its fleet. Yvonne Moynihan, managing director at Wizz Air UK, expressed excitement about the new routes, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to providing affordable travel options for UK customers.
