Vladimir Putin has issued strong warnings to Western nations, unveiling a new “unstoppable” nuclear missile dubbed “Flying Chernobyl” that has successfully completed testing.

The Russian leader proudly declared Russia now possesses the most advanced nuclear forces globally. In a foreboding message about a potential World War Three scenario, Putin disclosed the recent secretive test flight of the Burevestnik doomsday missile on October 21. This missile, known for its “unlimited range,” was showcased during Putin’s visit to a military command post where he received updates on the situation at the Ukrainian frontline from Russia’s top general, Valery Gerasimov.

Simultaneously, Russian forces launched a brutal overnight assault on Kyiv, targeting residential buildings and causing casualties, including fatalities and injuries to civilians, including children.

Amid boasting about recent nuclear war drills, Putin emphasized the advanced capabilities of Russia’s nuclear deterrent forces, surpassing those of all other nuclear-equipped nations. The missile test involved a nuclear-powered cruise missile intended for extended flights, designed to outmaneuver existing Western defense systems.

Gerasimov confirmed the test of the Burevestnik, also known as “Flying Chernobyl,” stating that it flew for several hours covering a vast distance, showcasing its nuclear-powered propulsion and precision targeting capabilities.

Putin acknowledged that the Burevestnik is not yet deployable for combat but aimed to intimidate Western powers, underscoring Russia’s ongoing military operations in Ukraine without specifying an end date to the conflict.

In Kyiv, fires blazed in high-rise buildings as rescue efforts were underway following the deadly strikes. Putin’s envoy in the US attempted to deflect blame onto Ukrainian air defenses for the attacks on civilians, a claim refuted by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky condemned the latest attacks, characterizing them as deliberate assaults on civilian life and infrastructure by Russian forces, with devastating consequences. He highlighted the significant scale of Russian military actions against Ukraine, including the use of drones, guided bombs, and missiles in targeting civilian areas.
