EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the growing threat of scams, aiming to shield customers from fraudulent activities. The upgrade, priced at £2 per month for EE pay-monthly mobile users, promises advanced protection against evolving cyber threats.
Since its inception in 2024, Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts, with the new iteration expected to double this figure over the next year. The core of the updated service is the AI Triple-Lock Protection, incorporating three key features powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine.
The revamped Scam Guard includes Safe Email for proactive email scam detection, Safe SMS to identify sophisticated text message scams in real-time, and Safe Web to prevent malicious online activities. Additionally, the service introduces Scam Assistant for instant advice on potentially unsafe content shared by customers and Social Media Monitoring along with Dark Web Monitoring to track suspicious online behavior promptly.
Malcolm Cubitt, EE’s Director of Product, Mobile, emphasized the importance of combating fraud in the face of increasingly convincing scams. He highlighted EE’s commitment to customer safety through innovative solutions like the enhanced Scam Guard service, reinforcing the network’s dedication to cybersecurity in a constantly evolving threat landscape.
