A leading expert has expressed doubt over the chances of recovering the stolen “priceless” treasures taken from the famous Louvre museum in Paris, France. The robbers, in a swift heist lasting only seven minutes, made off with items of immense historical significance, including valuables once owned by French royalty and colonial leaders. The audacious theft was made possible by significant security oversights, sparking widespread outrage.

Despite ongoing efforts by a team of 60 investigators, there is growing skepticism about locating the stolen jewels. Experts warn that if the culprits are not apprehended within the critical 48-hour window post-theft, the chances of recovering the stolen artifacts diminish significantly. The incident has been described as a blow to France’s heritage, with officials expressing shock over the ease with which the robbery occurred.

The stolen imperial crown, dropped by the thieves as they fled, is the only item that has been recovered so far, albeit damaged. Concerns mount over the fate of the remaining stolen pieces, which include a range of valuable jewelry linked to historical figures like Napoleon III and French queens from the 19th century. With each passing hour, the prospects of recovering the looted items dwindle, as they may have been dismantled, melted down, or transported across borders.

French authorities disclosed that the criminals accessed the museum using a cherry picker to reach the hall housing the royal collection, which features the renowned Crown Diamonds. The swift and calculated nature of the robbery, carried out in a well-guarded building, has raised questions about the sophistication of the perpetrators. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed that the culprits escaped on motorcycles after smashing display cases in the Apollon Gallery, where the stolen treasures were exhibited. No injuries were reported in the daring heist.
