A new magical world inspired by the beloved Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling is set to come to life at LEGOLAND Deutschland in Germany. The theme park has confirmed a partnership between Merlin Entertainments and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences to bring the iconic franchise into LEGO form.
Although details of the new attraction are currently being kept secret, the park has assured fans that more information will be revealed within the next year. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences EVP Peter van Roden expressed excitement about providing Harry Potter fans worldwide with a unique experience to immerse themselves in the wizarding world in a way they have never experienced before.
Since the release of the first Harry Potter book in 1997, the franchise has expanded to include eight Harry Potter films, three Fantastic Beasts movies, a stage production, and a video game.
While there are existing Harry Potter-themed attractions at some Universal resorts and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, this will be the first Wizarding World experience at LEGOLAND. Additionally, the park will offer officially themed accommodation, a first for fans seeking a true wizarding getaway.
The announcement coincides with the anticipation surrounding the upcoming HBO series based on J.K. Rowling’s books, scheduled to premiere in 2027 after commencing filming in 2025. The series is planned to span multiple seasons, each corresponding to one of Rowling’s renowned books.
The collaboration between Harry Potter and LEGO has a rich history, with numerous themed brick sets released over the years. Notable sets include the Sorting Hat set from 2001 and the impressive Hogwarts set with over 6,000 pieces, currently retailing for £409 on LEGO’s official store.
Located in Günzburg, Germany, LEGOLAND park is conveniently accessible from Munich Airport, just over an hour away. British fans can easily reach the park with flights from various UK airports and a short train and bus journey from the airport to the park entrance.
The new Harry Potter land will add to the array of family-friendly attractions at the park, including LEGO NINJAGO World, MINILAND showcasing iconic landmarks, Knights’ Kingdom, and the adrenaline-pumping LEGO® X-TREME featuring thrill rides and rollercoasters.
